Job Summary
Travel Leaders - Discovery is seeking a Travel Agency Manager in our Sheboygan office. The Travel Agency Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the agency, ensuring that it meets sales targets, maintains high levels of customer satisfaction, and adheres to industry regulations. The role involves leading a team of travel agents, coordinating travel packages, negotiating with vendors, and handling customer inquiries and issues.
Responsibilities of a Travel Agency Manager:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of travel agents and administrative staff.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on the latest travel products and industry trends.
- Monitor staff performance, set goals, and conduct performance reviews
- Identify new business opportunities and maintain relationships with key clients.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote travel packages and special offers.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by resolving complaints and inquiries efficiently.
- Provide expert advice on travel destinations, packages, and products.
- Oversee the daily operations of the travel agency, including bookings, invoicing, and financial management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and secure the best deals for clients.
- Monitor expenses, and ensure profitability.
- Analyze financial reports and sales data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Handle billing, invoicing, and ensure timely payments from clients.
- Design and develop travel packages that meet the needs of different customer segments.
- Collaborate with suppliers to create attractive and cost-effective travel packages.
Qualifications of a Travel Agency Manager:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a travel agency or related industry
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven sales and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in travel booking systems, preferably Worldspan, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
- Relevant certifications in travel and tourism are a plus but not required (e.g., IATA certification).
